From June 2008, Kirsty volunteered her time to create artworks with kids with cancer at the Sydney Children's Hospital.

Since moving to Adelaide, Kirsty has become a Captain Starlight with the Starlight Children's Foundation and continues to create art with and for sick kids. She also works with Livewire, which is a website set up for adolescents in hospital.
